Kerosene is a flammable hydrocarbon liquid that is obtained from the fractional distillation of petroleum. It is commonly used in wick and pressure type burners such as lamps, lighter, stoves and other domestic appliances. It is also widely used as a fuel for heating, or as a solvent and degreasing agent in industrial applications.

Diesel is a flammable hydrocarbon liquid distilled from petroleum crude oil. It is often used in an engine for the generation of power or burned in a furnace for the generation of heat.
